Kalpataru, and Core Wellness & Movement Arts trainings:

Kalpataru is a groundbreaking restorative program for women trafficked in the sex trade in India. In 2015, TSP and New Light will facilitate Kalpataru in five red-light districts in India, providing tools for creating health, joy and connection while facing significant life challenges, and help empower women through rights-based education and community-building. ‘Kalpataru’ is the Sanskrit word for a divine wish-fulfilling tree of Indian mythology that imparts energy for changing one’s destiny. Program is projected for twice a year. TSP also conducts trainings for young women leaders in New Light residential shelters for children of sex workers.

“The Storydancer Project with Zuleikha in Kolkata…re-creating and nurturing a dream that was buried under layers of unspoken aspiration. The movement work allows the women to feel whole … once again.” – Urmi Basu, Director, New Light
