HOPE PROJECT: The Storydancer Project programs in partnership with the Hope Project (http://hopeprojectindia.org/) cultivate sustainable health, resilience, self-worth and leadership skills in the marginalized communities of the Nizamuddin Basti and other impoverished areas around Delhi in Hope Project outreach programs.
The Hope Project builds capacities of the poor and vulnerable and gives opportunities, so that they can realize their hidden potential and determine their own future. The Muslim women and girls often live isolated lives at home without access to education, health care, and opportunity to improve their lives. TSP provides Transformative Self-Care programs and trainings that emphasize girls’ leadership, children’s joyful exercise, mothers’ self-care, healthy lifestyles, vocational self-care, and prescriptive exercises for common chronic conditions such as spondylitis and chronic pain. Through TAM™, Zuleikha has trained community leaders of the Hope Project, who are now facilitating the Self-Care exercises inside of Hope’s departments and outreach programs, including Health, Education, Livelihood, and Income Generation.
